Siemens leads global industrial AI revolution with India at the Core

With over 10,000 AI and software experts in India, Siemens is helping build what it calls an industrial AI operating system in partnership with NVIDIA. As India ranks third globally in AI competitiveness and first in AI skill penetration, could the country now become the engine powering the next wave of smart manufacturing?

Building the industrial AI operating system

Siemens is combining artificial intelligence, digital twins and automation into a unified industrial operating system through an expanded partnership with NVIDIA. The aim is simple yet ambitious: connect AI directly to real production systems at scale.

“Industrial AI is a core capability to make our customers more competitive, resilient and sustainable. And for the Indian economy it is the key lever for growth and prosperity,” said Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens. “Together with our partner NVIDIA, we are building the industrial AI operating system to connect AI to real production systems at scale. Siemens’ and NVIDIA’s teams in India will play a leading role to integrate Industrial AI along the entire value chain from design, engineering, and operations.”

By combining NVIDIA’s strength in accelerated computing with Siemens’ expertise in industrial software and hardware, manufacturers can simulate entire factories before they are built, train AI systems virtually and run more flexible, software-defined production lines.

Transform 2026: Showcasing real-world impact

On 6 March 2026, Siemens will host Transform – Siemens India Innovation Day 2026, bringing together over 500 customers and partners. The event will highlight how industrial AI, digital twins and AI-driven automation are shaping manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, while supporting smarter grids and more sustainable mobility across India.
